The information agency Metal-Courier was founded in September 1995. The Agency's role was the preparation of market and industry data and the supply of expert analysis for the CIS metallurgical
sector in Russia, the Ukraine, Kazakhstan and other countries of the former USSR.
In March 1996, a separate Market Analysis department was created within the Agency. This commenced publication of the Metal Expert and of a series of related monthly bulletins: Rolled
Steel, Steel Tubes & Pipes, and Steelmaking Raw Materials.
Simultaneously, the Agency commenced consulting activities in the form of the multi- and single- client studies. In October of 1996 the first edition was published of the CIS producers and metal
traders' directory, the CIS Steel & Metals Directory. Because of strong demand, this was republished three times: in 1998, 1999 and 2003.
Publication of a traders price-list bulletin Metal-Price commenced in November 1999. Early in 2003 a new subdivision was organized for studying the industrial transportation market in the
CIS and the Baltic states - the information bulletin Industrial Cargoes was then also launched.
An important event in 2003 was the creation of 'Business-Forum', a conference management business that in the last three years has overseen more than 10 successful exhibitions and events in the
metallurgical, chemical and transport sectors of the CIS.
In 2004 the Agency launched a series of on-line services including Metal-Courier on-line, Metal-Expert on-line, Metal-Price on-line, Chem-Courier on-line and Industrial Cargoes on-line.
Today, as market leader in the provision of CIS metallurgy-related data and research, the Agency serves in excess of 1000 corporate clients across Russia, the Ukraine, other parts of the CIS as well
as elsewhere around the world.
