German prices 1994 to 2009

The prices shown are for German ferrous scrap exports [US $/tonne, fob German port]. German export levels for the last 15 years have been at the level of several hundred thousand tonnes per month; thus German prices are a good benchmark for European [and also international] scrap prices.

Source: MCI data; based on trade figures [scrap: old steel - 6 digit trade code 720449; which covers carbon steel scrap which is not in the form of turnings, shavings, chips, filings].
