With headquarters in Montreal, IOC has mining and concentrator operations in Labrador City (Labrador City Mine - with mining, crushing, beneficiation and pelletising operations) and operates the Quebec North Shore and Labrador Railway to ship ore concentrate from mine to port (Sept-Iles, Quebec). After processing iron ore at Labrador City, this rail facility transports the ore 418 km south to the company's shipping terminal and deepwater port at Sept-Iles. Trains can haul up to 24,000 tonnes of ore in 265 cars stretching some 2.5 kilometers in length.
