Other information: Kirloskar Ferrous Industries Lts (OKFIL) was incorporated in 1991 with the objective of manufacturing high quality pig iron and thin walled quality grey iron castings to cater to growing Indian demand in industry sectors such as tractors, automotives and diesel engines. Commercial production of pig iron commenced from Mini Blast Furnace I in 1994. Production of grey iron castings commenced in 1995. A new foundry was commissioned in the year 2014 with a high pressure mould line, robotic core centre and advanced processing capabilities as well as in-house casting, fettling, and finishing.

KFIL currently supplies pig iron to foundries catering to the auto, engine & compressor segments, and to customers in the textile, pump and pipes sector. Over the years, KFIL has developed a customer network across India (except Eastern Region), through agents, dealers and branch offices. Main pig iron products sold include foundry grade pig iron, spherodized graphite grade pig iron, and basic grade pig iron.

The KFIL Foundry produces grey iron & S.G iron castings for a variety of applications that include cylinder blocks, cylinder heads & different types of housings required by the automobile, tractor and diesel engine industries.

• 2020: Completes acquisition of movable and immovable assets relating to the pig iron plant of VSL Steel situated at Paramenahally Village, Hiriyur, Chitradurga District, Karnataka.
• 2018: Kirloskar Ferrous Industries is declared as the Preferred Bidder in an e-auction of Bharat Mines and Minerals and Sri. M Channakesava Reddy (Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Mining Co).
• 2018: Firm is successful in acquiring Karnataka lease of iron ore mines which were had been managed by Bharat Mines and Minerals.
• 2012: Completes installation of sinter plant at its Koppal Works, Karnataka.
• 2006: Acquires the Castings Division of Kirloskar Oil Engines Ltd at Shivashahi, Solapur with all its assets and liabilities for consideration of Rs 210 million.
• 1994: Commences commercial production of pig iron.
• 1992: Company enters into an agreement with Tata Korf Engineering Services Ltd for technical know how and consultancy services relating to production of hot metal.
• 1991: The company incorporated on 10th September as a Public Limited company under the name of Kirloskar Ferrous Ltd Co.
