The site has three main sections plus a general area called 'MEMBERS & MORE'. The 3 main sections are organised as follows:
1) INFORMATION section: including world steel news, international prices, production reports [newspaper image]...
2) CONTACT NETWORK section: including event information, a free message board, job postings [people around globe image]...
3) EXPERT SUPPORT section: including management consulting services, feasibility studies, reports for purchase [professional advisers image].

You are now in the INFORMATION section, on the World Steel Industry News page. This page brings you the latest international steel industry news. The news reports are updated several times a day.
If you look in the yellow-coloured block on the right hand side of this page ['Select other news'] you will find a selection of other news sub-menus. These cover steelmaking raw material news (scrap, pig iron, iron ore), topics such as Arcelor Mittal news / steel pricing news, regional steel news (Brazil, Russia, India, China) and more...
Still under INFORMATION, if you look under the 'Steel Statistics' sub-menu, you will come across a link to 'Plant Information'. That gets you to the page that is currently shown, which has world steel capacity information from James King. Please contact James King if you need the capacity data for any product / country / facility worldwide.
Incidentally, when browsing the website you can go back to the home page at any time by simply clicking on our logo at the top left-hand corner of every page...
On the topic of site navigation, you might also want to check out our powerful search facility, which is at the top right-hand corner of each page ['Search Site'] and which will rapidly locate any word or phrase on the website.
Under INFORMATION, you will also see 'Production Data' under the 'Steel Statistics' sub-menu, which gets you to the page that is currently shown. This has the latest world steel production reports, published monthly ...
The INFORMATION section of the website has many other data pages like this. If you click on 'Input Costs' for example, you will see the latest coal, coke, natural gas, iron ore and scrap prices. That commodity prices page also leads site visitors to financial models that illustrate the cost of liquid steel production in $/tonne via the integrated and electric arc steelmaking process routes.
Under 'Perspectives' perhaps try clicking on 'Memo from Moscow' ... which will take you to our regular report on steel industry developments in Russia and Ukraine?
By the way, if you ever get lost on the site, the 'breadcrumbs' near the top of each page [You are here: www.steelonthenet.com >] will shown you exactly where you are.
Under 'FeA / Non-Ferrous' (still under INFORMATION) you can click on 'Ferroalloys' to see the very latest ferroalloy price charts for ferrochrome, ferrosilicon, ferromolybdenum, ferromanganese and other ferro-alloys....
Non-ferrous newsfeeds and other base metal price charts may also be accessed from that sub-menu.
But let us turn now to the second area of the site: this is the NETWORKING SECTION ...

We are now in the second main section of the website, called NETWORKING. This section consists of the second block of links in the left-hand menu bar, located under the block labelled INFORMATION which we have just reviewed.
Industry conferences can be a great way to develop one's contact network. If you look under 'Industry Events' at the 'Meetings' link, you will be able to access the latest list of forthcoming international steel industry conferences and similar events shown on this page.
Still under NETWORKING, if you click under 'Forums' on 'Message Board', that link will take you to our notice board page where you may post a [free] steel industry announcement for others to see. In case you are wondering, Y! in the menu bar is short for Yahoo! We also run quite a big Yahoo steel group (over 1900 members). Please feel free to make use of that service too, to promote your business or to develop your contact network still further.
