  • 1992: Delong Steel Co Ltd was established as Teamsphere in the year 1992.
  • 2000: The company changes its name to Delong Steel.

  • 1992: Delong Steel was originally named 'Teamsphere'. The firm is currently located in Nanshimen, Xindu District, Hebei Province.
  • 2014: Thai jv agreement is with Permsin Steel Works Public Company Limited, Asia Metal Public Company Limited and Thai Yuan Metal Public Company Limited. The jv centres on the establishment of a 500 kt / year steel manufacturing plant within the Amata City Industrial Estate in Rayong Province for the production of hot rolled narrow strip.
  • 2016: Delong Thailand was established as a 600,000 tonne / year reroller of hot rolled coil. Other joint venture partners included the Permsin Steel Works Public Company Limited, Asia Metal Public Company Limited and Thai Yuan Metal Public Company Limited.
  • 2017: Sulawesi steel plant was to be a 3.5 mt / year stainless steel factory located in the Morowali Industrial Park in Central Sulawesi. The facility was commissioned end-2021; site location renamed as the Delong Industrial Park.
  • 2018: This Indonesian joint venture was Delong Steel's first investment made under China's belt and road initiative. Dexin Steel Indonesia is a stainless steel production plant based on the island of Sulawesi. Dexin's joint venture partners are Shanghai Decent Investment Group and Indonesia Morowali Industrial Park.
  • 2019: Bohai Steel collapsed in 2016 with more than 200 billion yuan ($28.4 billion) in unpaid debt. Subsequent break-up of Bohai Steel was enforced by the Tianjin Government in 2019, with Bohai steel assets [including those of Tianjin Iron and Steel, Tianjin Metallurgy Group and Tianjin Tiantie Metallurgy] being sold to Delong Steel for a consideration of 20 billion yuan.
  • 2021: Jiujiang Wire is also known as the Qian’an Jiujiang Wire Rod Co.
  • 2021: The Saudi deal with China's Teda Investment Holding Co was signed by the New Tianjin Steel Group, a Delong Steel subsidiary. The project will centre on a new 10 mt / year EAF steelmaking plant.
  • 2022: Zimbabwe steel plant is to have a capacity of 2.5 mt/year, with probable capex of ~$2.5 billion.
  • 2023: Attempts to shed high pollution image by becoming a unique tourist destination by turning scrap metal into works of art.
  • 2025: The February 2025 joint venture between Belgium's Steelinvest Group and Delong Steel Group created Ziming SG Global, headquartered in Dubai, UAE. The venture will market and sell steel produced by Delong's mills, focusing on exports of flat steel, long steel, slabs and billets. With Delong's combined capacity of approximately 30 million mt/year across 11 steel mills, the joint venture aims to scale up to 5 million t/year of exports over time. Managed by Fred Hayrapet of Steelinvest Group, the partnership leverages Steelinvest's existing 3.5 million t/year steel and raw materials marketing capability to enhance Delong's global export reach despite increasing international trade barriers facing Chinese steel.
  • 2026: The change of name and registered address took effect on 5 March 2026. The registered office moved from the Lingang New Area of the China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone to the Airport Economic Area of the Tianjin Free Trade Zone. The group has annual steel capacity of around 30 million tonnes.
  • 2026: Delong Huineng announced on 26 February 2026 that its controlling shareholder, Beijing Dingxin Ruitong Technology Development Co., had completed the transfer of its shares to Dongyang Nuoxin Xincai Enterprise Management Partnership, ending Ding Liguo's control. Eight directors, including Ding Liguo, subsequently resigned from the Delong Huineng board.
